About Pan Atlantic University
Pan-Atlantic University, situated in Lekki within Lagos State, is a privately funded educational institution operating as a non-profit entity. The university falls under the ownership of the Pan-Atlantic University Foundation (PAUF), a non-profit foundation registered within Nigeria.
A fundamental and prominent aspect of PAU’s foundational principles is its affiliation with Christianity. To both preserve and advance this ethos, the PAUF is committed to infusing all academic and community service undertakings of the university with the spirit and Christian values associated with the Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei (Opus Dei).
The roots of the university can be traced back to its precursor, the Lagos Business School (LBS), which was established in 1991. Recognizing its potential impact, the federal government granted official recognition to the institution as the Pan-African University in 2002. Initially, the Lagos Business School (LBS) formed the inaugural school under this new umbrella
In May 2013, a name adjustment took place, resulting in the adoption of the name Pan-Atlantic University. This alteration was made to mitigate confusion with the Pan-African University operated by the African Union.
